Aubrey Kingsbury

Aubrey Kingsbury, formerly known as Aubrey Bledsoe is the Spirit’s starting goalkeeper. Kingsbury began her professional career in the Norwegian league, and joined the NWSL in 2015 when she was traded to Sky Blue FC (now Gotham FC). Later she played for Orlando Pride before being traded to the Washington Spirit in 2018. With the Spirit Kingsbury quickly became a cornerstone in the team’s defence, setting a league record of 108 saves in her first season. She earned the NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year award twice in 2019 and 2021, and earned the Most Valuable Player in the 2021 NWSL Championship.
Kingsbury made her international debut with the USWNT in April 2022 with a clean sheet victory over Uzbekistan. At 30 years old she became the oldest goalkeeper to earn her first cap for the USWNT.
