History of Hearts of Pine
In 2017, Gabe Hoffman-Johnson founded the UCL to Portland group. Alongside other Maine-based enthusiasts, the group organized watch parties and community involvement in Greater Portland.
Fall 2024, the ICONIC Hearts of Pine home kit was debuted. Called the "Woods & Water" in honor of Maine's natural beauty. This kit went viral featured on Men in Blazers as well as donned by stars Big Papi and Patrick Dempsey!
March 29th, the Hearts of Pine make their USL 1 debut! Lining up against FC Naples, the match ends in a lackluster 0-0 draw. However spirits cannot be crushed, even with a boring scoreline.
Fall 2023, the hard work of UCL to Portland paid off! The city of Portland was officially granted status as an expansion city for UCL 1!
January 2025, first Maine-born player signed! Lewiston based Khalid Hersi joins the squad!
