Trinity Rodman

Arguably the biggest breakout star of the Washington Spirit is Trinity Rodman.  After the Covid-19 pandemic canceled her first collegiate-year season with the Washington State Cougars, Rodman went pro. In the 2021, Rodman made history as the youngest player ever drafted at the age of 18 when the Spirit selected her with their first pick (2nd overall). In her professional debut in April 2021, Rodman scored within five minutes of entering the game. She helped lead the team to their first NWSL Championship that season. She later went on to win the NWSL Rookie of the Year Award as well as NWSL Best IX and US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year. In 2022, Rodman signed a contract extension with Washington Spirit reportedly worth $1.1 million, making her the highest paid player in the NWSL at the time. As of the end of the 2024 NWSL season, Rodman has made 100 appearances and scored 29 goals for the Spirit.
