Michele Kang

Michele Kang is an American businesswoman and philanthropist. She was born in South Korea and moved to the U.S. to pursue higher education. The transfer in ownership of the Spirit to Kang was seen as a big step for the NWSL. Kang is the first woman of color to be the majority owner of a NWSL team and she clearly has the support of the players who are excited for her to invest in the franchise. Kang is also the majority owner of two other women’s soccer teams: Olympique Lyonnais Féminin (Division 1 Feminine, France) and the London City Lionesses (FA WSL 2, England). Kang is also the founder and CEO of Kynisca Sports International, a multi-team women’s soccer organization
