Yael Averbuch West

Averbuch West is a former American professional soccer player. She played for Sky Blue FC in 2009, helping them win the WPS Championship. Averbuch West went on to have a very successful professional and international career until she medically retired due to ulcerative colitis. Averbuch West was appointed to the interim general manager position in July 2021 following two very disreputable executives: Tony Novo and Alyse LaHue. Novo had been accused of poor management and maltreatment of players and LaHue was accused of sexual misconduct. Both were fired or encouraged to step down. Therefore, Averbuch West had very “small shoes” to fill. She was permanently appointed in August 2021 and has made a more positive impression on fans and players.
